Obituary for Patrick Roger Jr.
Patrick Leo Roger Jr., 54, of Princeville, a loving husband, father, son and brother, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Pat was born March 19, 1959, in Peoria, the son of Pat and Rosa Lee Rebholz Roger. The most important things in Pat’s life were his family and friends, especially his beloved wife of 31 years, Fawn Carter Roger, and daughter, Kirby Marie Roger. His mother, Rosa Lee Roger; brother, Rudy (Christine) Roger; sisters, Linda (George) Sprague, Elizabeth (Paul) Hargens, and his nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Patrick Leo Roger Sr., and his grandparents. He played football for Princeville High School and played in the Shiners All Star football team in 1976. He proudly served as Honor man and Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1983. Pat was a member of the National Rifle Association, the American Legion, the Farm Bureau and Teamsters 327, owned and operated R. P. Roger Trucking and worked for N. E. Finch Co. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to fish, hunt and collect weapons, rocks, animal skulls and deer antlers. He always spoke the truth, stood by his word and faced life’s challenges with courage and honor. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. with visitation on hour prior at Hammitt Hott Funeral Home in Princeville. Memorials may be made to South Side Mission or Peoria Rescue Ministries.
