Obituary for Penny Sue McCoy
Penny Sue McCoy, 56, of Pekin, IL passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 21, 1967, in Abilene, TX.
She married Robert “Bobby” Leonard McCoy in March 2008 in Pekin, IL; he survives. She is also survived by her children, David Anthony (Brittney) Felix, Carlos E. (Breanna) Felix, Deja (Dean) McCoy; grandchildren, Lilia, Julian, Kehlani; mother, Penelope “Sue” Barajas; father, Patrick Simmons; siblings, Jeanine Huddleston, Carlos (Maria) Barajas Jr., and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Betty Stith.
Penny graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, CA, and Santa Monica City College.
She was of the Catholic faith. She worked as a baker for Schnucks for many years, retiring in 2016.
Penny loved hanging out with her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and cooking, especially egg rolls.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary 905 S. 5th Street, Pekin, IL 61554. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
