Obituary for Pressie Eatmon
Pressie A. “Sonny” Eatmon 67, of Washington, passed away Monday October 17, 2011 at his residence after a courageous battle. He was born November 9, 1943 in Paragould, AR to Press and Mary Beth Johnson Eatmon. He married Kathy L. White in Paragould, AR on February 14, 1976. She survives along with his three children, Thomas (Lisa) Eatmon of Peoira, Tonya (Jerry) Manuel of East Peoria, Tracy Eatmon of East Peoria, three grandchildren, Brooke Manuel, Brittany Manuel, Zackary Manuel, and three sisters, Carolyn (Dr. Bobby) Barnhill of East Peoria, Diane E. (Dennis) Faux of Pekin, and Deborrah (Stephen) Higgs of Delavan. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Pressie and his son Thomas owned and operated Eatmon Roofing Co. for 40 years. He loved his family and his grandchildren and loved to fish and ride his scooter. He was a faithful member of McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin, and his family has the assurance that he has gone home to be with the Lord. His brother-in-law and Pastor Dr. Bobby Barnhill will officiate his funeral service at McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin, on Friday October 21, 2011 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday October 20, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm. Memorials may be made to his church or Methodist Hospice.
