Obituary for Ralph Strawn
Ralph F. (Sonny) Strawn, 76, of Creve Coeur, IL, passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Ralph was born May 30, 1939, in Pekin, IL to Frankie Marie and Ralph Strawn. His parents and sister, Louise Cain preceded him in death. He married Betty Jo Thacker on August 8th, 1958 and they were married for 56 years. She passed away on February 10, 2015. Surviving are six children, Tina (Dane) McFarland, Ben Strawn, Sarah (Don) Graham of Barnhart, Missouri, Edie (George) O’Bryan of Cape Coral Florida, Sam Strawn and Jesse Strawn. He was a grandfather to 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Wayne Strawn, John Strawn, and Linda Holocker, Shelia Martin and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Living Hope Community Church in Bartonville, IL. Ralph was an employee of Caterpillar for over 31 years, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved spending time with his family, church family and outdoor activities. He will be dearly missed by all and is now present with our Lord and Savior. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of his ashes will be in the Strawn Cemetery in Lacon, IL, at a later date with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Living Hope Community Church, 6116 W. Lancaster Road, Bartonville, IL 61607.
