Obituary for Raymond Louis Skocaj
Raymond Louis Skocaj 85, of Pekin passed away Thursday June 16, 2016 at his home. Born in Cleveland, OH to Joseph and Karolina Mezgec Skocaj on July 4, 1930. He married Amelia Joan Tramte at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Cleveland on April 29, 1950, she preceded him in death on March 18, 2005. Also preceding where his parents, his brother Joe and infant son Raymond. He is survived by his children: Barbara (Don) Hanck of Huron, OH, Nancy (Greg) Wheeler of Pekin, Joan (Troy) Thomas of Woodstock, IL, Richard (Lori) Skocaj, Michael Skocaj and Raymond (Shelley) Skocaj all of Pekin, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Ray was a regional manger for Krogers where he started working in 1946 and worked until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Moose and the Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight from 1988 to 1989 and District Deputy from 1992 to 1993. He also was active in the Wrestling Boosters Club and Junior Achievement. Ray was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where in the past served as a Eucharist Minister and was on the Finance Committee. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday June 21

at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. In Lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or Church.
