Obituary for Rex C. Chapai
Rex C. “Bud” Chapai 70, of Peoria passed away on Sunday October 4, 2009 at Bel-Wood Nursing Home. Born in Peoria on March 9, 1939 to Leo and Rena Hines Chapai. He married Rose Jackson in Jerseyville on August 22, 1959 and later married Barb Shaffer, she preceded him in death along with his parents and brothers Leo, Olen and Marna “Red” Chapai. He is survived by his children: Jeffery (Tina) Chapai of Canton, Jackie Chapai and Kim (Chuck) Martin both of Peoria Heights, Tera Chapai-Burton of Peoria, sisters: Kate (Ray) Pecher of Canton, Nell Kennington of CA, Frances “Tubby” Munro of Bentonville, AR, Audry (Herman) Davis of Germantown Hills, sister-in-law Lucille Chapai of Peoria, stepson Jon Shaffer of CA and his 12 grand and 6 great grandchildren. Rex was a Truck Driver for Brewers Distributing for 25 years and also worked at Main St. Liquors for 47 years, Pabst Brewery for 10 years and was a member of the Teamsters. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday October 10

at the Lord’s Table Church of God, 4000 Becker Dr. Bartonville at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service also at the church. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
