Obituary for Robert Leggins Sr.
Robert Roy Leggins Sr. 78, of Peoria passed away Sunday July 3, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born January 5, 1933 in Kewanee, IL to Frank Leggins and Irene Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his previous wife; Janice Taylor, 4 children; Deborah Ann Leggins Dehne Smith Chambliss of Nashville, TN, Susan Lynn Leggins Fuller Jackson of Chillicothe, IL, Robert Roy Leggins, Jr. of Peoria, IL, and Cathrine Sue Leggins Bennet of Sunnyland, IL. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and special friend Charlotte Waters. Robert served in the US Army from 1953 to 1961 and was a self employed carpenter retiring in 1981. He was also a member of the Carpenters Local 183 in Peoria and past American Legion Post 100 Commander in Washington in 1971. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
