Obituary for Rodney Homerin
Rodney L. Homerin, 57, of Pekin passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1957 in Pekin to James and Sharlene Ozella Homerin. He married Christine Stone February 14, 1982 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his father; maternal and paternal grandparents and niece, Jamie Mahan. He is survived by his mother Sharlene Homerin of Pekin; sons, Chad Homerin of Pekin, Kyle (Amy Tabb) Homerin of Pekin; daughter, Crystal (Jake Littlepage) Homerin of St. David; grandson, Mason Littlepage with another grandson on the way; brother, Tony (Melissa) Homerin of Pekin; sisters, Tracy (Carl) Hildenbran of Fayetteville, GA, Rhonda (Terry) Mahan of Pekin, Angela (Rich Jaurez) Bruder of Pekin, Alanna Homerin of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews and his childhood friend, Phil Draffen of Pekin. Rodney served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a painter for Byerly Airport. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He volunteered at the Pekin Township and Tazewell County Veterans Assistance Food Pantry in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin with a visitation two hours prior at the funeral home. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. Memorials may be made to the family to assist with arrangements.
