Obituary for Roger Halverson
Roger A. Halverson 84, of Pekin passed away Wednesday May 5, 2010 at his home. He was born October 15, 1925 in Pekin to Carl and Christina Furseth Halverson, they preceded him in death. He married Rose Mary Neuhaus on July 2, 1947 in Pekin. She survives along with his children: Nancy (Gary) Haller of Pekin, Robert (Penny) Halverson of Pekin, siblings: Sue Booth of Winona, MN, Charles (Rita) Halverson of Reno, NV and Carlton (Lois) Halverson of Greenfield, IN. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Christina Stewart, Coni (Jeff) Nielson, Chantel Haller, Joshua Haller, William (Susie) Halverson, Roger Halverson and his 4 great-grandchildren. Roger was a War Veteran in the U.S. Navy. He worked as the Safety Director for C.P.C. International retiring in 1977 and was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin. He was also part of Golf and Bowling leagues.Roger had a great love for his family. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 8, 2010 at the First Christian Church 1201 Chestnut St. Pekin at 11am with a visitation 1 hour prior. Pastor Mike Roberts will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church or Hospice Compassus.
