Obituary for Roger W. Cox
Roger W. Cox 57, of Pekin passed away on Thursday December 31, 2009 at Manor Care at Riverview in East Peoria. Born in Princeton, MO to Troy and Eva Joe Young Cox on February 10, 1952. He married Valerie Doan in Pekin on August 25, 1984. She survives along with his children: Vanessa Cox and Spencer Cox both of Pekin, his parents of Savannah, TN brothers: Vernon (Cindy) Cox of Groveland, Phillip (Jeanette) Cox of Plano, TX and Warren (Susane) Cox of Denver, CO. Roger served in the Marines and was an Inspector at Caterpillar, retiring in October of 2009. He loved fishing and Hunting and was a loving husband and father and will be missed by his family. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday January 4, at Abts Mortuary at 10 a.m. Deacon Mark Wilder will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Pekin Union Mission or Hospice Compassus. Arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
