Obituary for Ronald Leslie Plice
Ronald Leslie Plice 72, of Peoria passed away on Monday January 23, 2017 at his home with his family beside him after losing a short battle with cancer. Born in Peoria to George and Beatrice Stimpson Plice on March 3, 1944. He married Annette Stokes on June 21, 1986 and she survives. Also surviving are his daughters: Dawn (Anthony Randle) Plice, Jennifer (Clarence) Brown, Angie (Calvin) lewis and Cathy (Ron) Cotty, sister Maggie Green, grandchildren: Josh (Mandi) Plice, Trae Cayson, Chris McNutt Jr., Jaquari Plice, Sharod Danage, Quintin Cotty, Jennae Brown, Zabrina Cotty and Aurora Plice, great grandchildren: Evie Marchese, Castle Plice, Isla Diemer and Da Ciyah McNutt and his companion “Lucky Dog”. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a grandson, bothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. He was baptized at Prayer View Community Church and attended Bethel Presbyterian Church. Ron worked at Keystone Steel and Wire,O.S.F. and retired as a Tow Truck driver for Farmington Road Towing in 2006. Ron was a Mason with the Shriners and drove the van to take children to the Shriners Hospital in Chicago, St. Louis and Cinn, OH. Ron loved Nascar races and the Peoria Speedway, he followed all the races his whole life. Other than loving his wife and family, he loved his sister Maggie. There will be a celebration of life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles at 1704 S. Eastlane in Peoria for all his friends and family. Food will be provided by his wife and sister on
January 29th at 5pm. Come tell stories of Ron and celebrate knowing Ron. Memorials can be made to the Peoria Animal Shelter, where he got “Lucky” or the Mohammad Shriners Transportation fund in his name.
And a special thanks for all the loving care from Dr. Stoner and Heartland Clinic staff along with Methodist Imaging and 7 Crescent staff.
