Obituary for Roscoe J. York
Roscoe J. York 89, of Peoria passed away on Saturday March 8, 2008 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Born in Athens on May 17, 1918 to Roma and Maude Mills York. He married Doris C. Reames in Palamira, MO in 1939, she preceded him in death on February 1, 2007 along with his brother Wayne. Surviving are his son Roscoe W. York of Peoria and his 7 grand and 4 great grandchildren. Roscoe worked as a Barber for 70 years in Peoria, having two shops on Main Street and later having one on the North end, retiring July 20, 2006. Cremation has been accorded and no service will be held. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements. On-line condolences may be made at csmico.com
