Obituary for Roscoe Jordan
Roscoe Earl Jordan, 87, of East Peoria passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 peacefully at his home attended by his loving family members. Roscoe was born June 3, 1924 in East St. Louis to Earl and Mary Pearl (Wade) Jordan. He married Doris K. Backes on November 23, 1953, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by baby daughter Margaret Michelle Jordan, sister Ruby Esboldt and brother Granville Jordan. Survivors include daughter Kathie (Terence) Grant and granddaughter Adrianne Grant of Washington, Ill., grandson Terence Grant of Los Angeles, Calif. and several nieces and nephews. Roscoe was a retired heavy equipment operator and proud member of Operating Engineers Local Union #649 for more than 45 years. He was an animal lover who excelled in geographical trivia. He enjoyed making home improvements, performing mechanical work and taking road trips with Doris to various destinations throughout the U.S. His favorite show was Dancing with the Stars and he enjoyed spending time with his family. At his request, there will be no memorial ceremony. Cremation has been accorded.
