Obituary for Ruth Shackelford
Ruth Ann Shackelford, 82, of Peoria, IL passed away Monday January 16, 2012 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL. She was born April 10, 1929 to Harry and Clara Fogg Nelson. She married Norman Shackelford October 10, 1964 in Peoria, IL. He survives along with her two sons, James B. Thomas of East Peoria, IL, William P. Thomas of Aumsville, OR; four daughters, Marijane Thomas of Peoria, IL, Rena Allen of Rock Island, IL, Lisa Williamson of Edwards, IL and Laura Burdess of Edwards, IL. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and her sister, June Stiers of Whiting, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Tena Hiltz, and two grandsons, Johnathon Crain and one infant. Ruth graduated from Central High School. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4019 N. Knoxville, Peoria, IL where a Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 21, 2012 at 3 p.m. Pastor Clarence Small will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
