Obituary for Sandra J. Sandy
Sandra J. Sandy 59, of Peoria passed away on Sun April 6, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born in St. Louis, MO to Ralph and Betty Ellison Sandy on Nov 18, 1948. She is survived by her mother of Peoria, son Chad (Brandy) Sandy of Washington, grandchildren; Samantha, Cheyenne, Mason and Shelby Sandy all of Washington. Also surviving are her brother Rick Sandy of Florida, 3 sisters Debra (Danny) Johnson of Creve Coeur, Darlene Stewart and Donita Humphreys both of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Sandy Sr. and brothers Raymond Peters and Ralph Sandy Jr. Sandra was a proud business owner of Special Affects Beauty Salon in Peoria for many years. She fought with many forms of cancer for 16 years. She was known and loved by many friends and family members. Never to be forgotten. Sandra’s wishes were not to have a visitation due to the fact no one could do her hair and makeup properly. There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday April 12, at 3:30 p.m. at Stonewing Banquet Hall: 2164 Washington Rd in Washington. Memorials can be made in the form of donations to Cancer Research. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
