Scott Richard McLaughlin, 58, of Chillicothe, IL passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria, IL. He was born December 8, 1955 in Streator, IL to Richard and Patricia Klee McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Lawrence Baty; brother, Kevin McLaughlin and one nephew, Glen Oakes. He is survived by his step-mother, Barb Arnold McLaughlin of Morris, IL; children, Keylee (Timothy) Kohler of Chillicothe, IL, Kory (Lesa) McLaughlin of Chillicothe, IL; siblings, Shawn McLaughlin of Palm Coast, FL, Patricia (Patty) McLaughlin of Orlando, FL, Mark (Sharon) Schusteric of Matteson, IL, Jodie Baty of Streator, IL, Preston (Simeon Molina) Baty of Los Angeles, CA, Carrie (Timothy) Platt of Ottawa, IL; grandchildren, Tashya, Hunter and Macey Kohler of Chillicothe, IL and several nieces and nephews. Scott served six years in the United States Army; He received a National Defense Service Medal, serving as a Rifle Marksman. Cremation has been accorded and per his wishes no services will be held.
