Obituary for Shelley Curtis

Shelley Curtis, 47, of East Peoria, IL passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born April 11, 1967 in Pekin, IL to Larry and Myra White Blair. She married John Curtis on May 28, 2003 in North Pekin, IL, he survives. She is also survived by her children, Alexis M. Curtis, John Ross Curtis, Bailey L. Curtis all of East Peoria, IL; parents, Myra (Edwin) Pietila of Arvada, CO; brother David (Brenda) Blair of Orrick, MO; sisters, Myra Jane (Rick) Schatzman of North Pekin, IL, Charlene (Sam) Smith of Blue Springs, MO; nephews, Lukas Bolen of Springfield, IL, Zander Schatzman of North Pekin, IL; maternal grandfather, Clifford T. (Wilma) White of Pekin, IL; uncle, Clifford (Carol) White of Pima, AZ; several aunts; brother-in-laws, Ron Stewart, Roger Stewart both of Galesburg, IL and sister-in-law, Julie Curtis (Jim) Jones of Knoxville, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Dean Blair and maternal grandmother, Rose Marie White. Shelley was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who loved to watch her children play sports. A visitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin, IL from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following the service. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, IL with a celebration of life following at Fondulac Church 100 Illini Drive, East Peoria, IL 61611. Chaplin Chase Wilhelm will officiate. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation in her name.
