Obituary for Sonia Kay Smullin
Sonia Kay Smullin, 61, of Peoria passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her residence.
She was born November 15, 1959 in Okaloosa, FL. Her parents, Theodore and Romania Matthews Zahner; biological father, Kenneth Ray Smith and sister, Reba Smith preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Joey Rose) Smullin, Elizabeth (Khalil) Alhindi, Timothy (Amber) Smullin, Deborah (Jimmy) King; eleven grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren and siblings, Aubrey Kenneth Ray Smith, Marlena Garcia, Sue Zahner and Sherry Phanz.
Sonia worked as the activity director for Buehler Home. She was of the Christian Faith. She loved helping others and enjoyed cooking and reading the Bible. She also loved to sing and listen to music.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
