Obituary for Spencer Watkins
Spencer T. Watkins, 44, of Peoria, IL passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, with his daughter by his side. Spencer was born January 4, 1969 in Greenville, MS to the late Dorothy J. Watkins and Howard Carter. He married Shirley Johnson on June 28, 1997, in Berkley, IL. To this union his loving daughter, Tiffany was born. He is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Watkins of Romeoville, IL, one step-son, Everett Moore of Romeoville, IL and Ze’Briah Porter of Hattiesburg, MS who he also cared for as if she were his own. He is also survived by five brothers, Cardell (Debra) Watkins, Eddie (Karen) Watkins, Michael (Charlene) Watkins, Charles Watkins all of Peoria, IL, Robert Watkins of Chicago, IL; one sister, Lena Watkins of Peoria, IL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and Penny Pate whom he had a special relationship with and considered his sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; one brother and one sister. He last worked for AVM and ICOM Office Solutions in Chicago, IL. Cremation has been accorded. There will be a memorial service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Gospel Experience Church, 3101 N.E. Madison Ave. Peoria, IL 61603. Pastor Richard Hammond will officiate the memorial service. The repast will follow the service at Church Of The Living God Temple 130, 2815 W. Lake Ave. Peoria, IL 61615. Memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, 8630 N. Illinois Rt 91 Peoria, IL 61615 in his name.
