Obituary for Steven L. Green
Steven L. Green 52, of Topeka passed away on Monday July 7, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Pekin on May 17, 1956 to Loel and Rose Marion Green. He married Dawn Rose Smith on June 27, 1979 in Arlington, VA, she survives along with his mother Rose and step-father Henry Roger Belk of Pekin, sons: Derek (Kristina) and Jered Green both of Peoria, brothers Gerald (Diana) Green of Mapleton, Bill (Jeanie) Green of Pekin, sisters: Sheila K. Reagan of Pekin, Jean Ann Gensel of Manito and Linda (Paul) Ranney of Freeport. His father and grandparents preceded him in death. Steven was on the Presidents List for Math and Physics in Collage and Played Football and was in management at Thompson Food Basket in Pekin, retiring in 1996. He also made beaded jewelry under the name “I got Beads”. He attended Emmanuel Community Church in Pekin and was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Peoria. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin at 11:30 a.m. Father Pat Fixsen will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be at Abts Mortuary on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Abts Mortuary.
