Obituary for Thelma Buttrum
Thelma A. Buttrum, 86, of Pekin passed away at 12:25 a.m. Monday January 2, 2012 at Timbercreek Rehab and Health Care Center in Pekin. She was born June 9, 1925 in Marion, KY to John and Lula Dickerson Smith. She married Claude “Wayne” Buttrum on February 9, 1946 in Cairo, IL. He preceded her in death June 11, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her son, Darryl Buttrum, three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Ron) Armstrong of Green Valley, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion, IL. Cremation has been accorded and a private burial at Cana Cemetery in Goreville, IL will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus in her name.
