Toni Marie (Chatwood) Siegle died of complications from leukemia on February 4, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria, Ill. She was 61 years old. Toni was born in Peoria, Ill. on January 3, 1953, to Anthony E. and Jacquelyn Danforth Chatwood. She attended Holy Family and St. Vincent De Paul grade schools in Peoria, Bergen High School, and graduated from Richwoods High School in 1971. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Western Illinois University, an associate’s degree in graphic design from Illinois Central College and a Master of Arts degree in English literature from Bradley University. Toni is survived by her son, Bradley D. Siegle of Portland, Ore., her mother, Jacquelyn D. Chatwood of Peoria, Ill., her sisters, Kristine Chatwood of Portland, Ore. and Marty S. Chatwood of Seffner, Fla., and many beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Toni worked at Dynamic Graphics, Inc. of Peoria, Ill. from 1981-2000. In 2000 she began working for Caterpillar. She held a number of positions there and at the time of her death was an account coordinator working with North American dealers. Toni placed a high value on education. In addition to her own studies, Toni taught at both Illinois Central College and Bradley University. From 2000-2004 she taught a Community Education class at Illinois Central College on Investment Basics and Personal Money Management. After completing her master’s degree, Toni joined the faculty at Bradley University as a part-time instructor. She taught English composition for the 2005-2006 academic year. Toni was a talented artist who saw art wherever she looked. Her interests and talent led her to photography, painting, and mixed mediums. Her boxes, painted and decorated with objects from everyday life, were well-known and appreciated by her family and friends. Her paintings, infused with a combination of balance and energy, caught and held the eye of all who saw them. She enjoyed crocheting and gifted friends and family with her scarves and other items. The northern Oregon coast was Toni’s favorite place. She visited there often and planned to retire there. It was her dream to live by the ocean and paint. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, at 3 p.m., at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, 305 SW Water St., Peoria. Attendees are encouraged to share stories and thoughts about Toni. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Cancer Care Foundation Leukemia Fund, 8940 N.
