Obituary for Verlin Maybee
Verlin J. Maybee, 92, of Pekin went to meet Jesus on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. He was born February 26, 1924 in Chicago to Verlin and Ruby Folkes Maybee. He married Carline Nardi; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Verline (Gerald) Martis of Green Valley, Carla (Joe) Martino of Roselle, Donna (Gale) Pierce of Mason, OH, Darcel (Joe) Muhr of Sandwich; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Verlin served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII Veteran. He loved motorcycles, cars and boating. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Federated Church in Sandwich, IL. Memorials may be made to Hines Hospital in Hines, IL in his name.
