Obituary for Virginia Coan
Virginia L. Coan 82, of Morton, IL formally of Marion, IN passed away Thursday June 16, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL after a long illness of Alzheimer’s. She was born September 20, 1928 in Marion, IN to Leroy S. and Bedelia Josephine Yaeger Wilson. She married Robert C. Coan on August 5, 1948 in Noblesville, IN. He preceded her in death along with her parents and one brother Collie J. Snyder. She is survived by her son; Timothy (Crystal) Coan of Mackinaw, IL, sisters; Doris Wilson-Mitchell of Marion, IN and Chris Snyder-Johnson of Marion, IN. She is also survived by her cousin; Kathleen Fluhrer of Marion, IN. Virginia graduated from Marion High School in 1946. She liked bowling, sewing, reading, cards and cooking. She was Co-Treasurer for Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Marion, IN for many years. Cremation has been accorded and a Memorial Services will be held Saturday June 25, 2011 at 10 am at the Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Marion, IN. Rev. James Warner will officiate. A reception will follow at Don’s Tap. Memorials may be made to Marion-Grant County Humane Society, or the Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Marion, IN.
