Obituary for Walker Lee Winter
Walker “Lee” Winter 84, of Morton passed away Saturday August 13, 2011 at Hopedale Hospital. She was born June 20, 1927 in Mud Creek, AL to Edward and Naomi Hooper Hester. She married Leonard A. Winter January 3, 1943 in Tuscumbia, AL. He survives along with their children, Gary (Linda) Winter of Glasford, Ann (Bobby) Head of Pekin, Larry (Jean) Winter of Pekin, Scott (Denise) Winter of Senoia, GA, Marty (Vickie) Winter of East Peoria, 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, 1 sister and 1 brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Lee was a member of Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria where a funeral service will be held Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 10 am. Pastor Tom Myers will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. A visitation will be held Monday August 15, 2011 at Abts Mortuary in Pekin from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to Twin Oaks Missionary Baptist Church Camp in her name.
