Obituary for Wanda Haulk
Wanda Kay Haulk, 68, of Manito, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, at 3:49 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16th, 2014. Wanda was born on September 20, 1946 in Pekin, IL to Walter and Maxine Evans (both preceding Wanda in passing). She married Howard Haulk, Jr. on November 27, 1986 in Peoria, IL. First and foremost, Wanda loved her family and friends and was the anchor who held everyone together. Spending time and watching movies with anyone she cared about is what made her happy. Wanda also loved kids, which encouraged her to go back to school and earn her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Development. After earning her degree she started teaching at Valeska Hinton in Peoria, IL. In her spare time Wanda loved doing crafts and making beautiful quilts, but most of all she loved spending time at the campground and fishing. Wanda is survived by her husband and her four children Michael (Tracey) Peak of Bartonville, Michelle (Michael) Overmyer of Manito, Billy (Julie) Irvin of Jacksonville, FL, and Steve Haulk of Pekin. She is also survived by two brothers Dale Evans of Manito, Michael (Peggy) Evans of Springlake, and two sisters, Sandy (Ronald) Shults of Manito, and Sherry Evans of Pekin. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Thomas Moore, Tonie Kay Mclean, Anthony Peak, Arian Overmeyer, Dakota Peak, Keaton Mclean, Kelly Irvin, and Landon Haulk. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Anyone wishing to help Celebrate the Life of Wanda Haulk, the family will be having a Celebration of Life starting at 4 pm on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Amvets on 2nd Street in Pekin, IL.
