Obituary for Wayne Taylor
Wayne E. Taylor, 69, of Canton passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born December 2, 1944 in Canton to Ward Ora and Mary Elizabeth Miller Taylor. He married Sinda Wilson June 20, 1963 in Cuba. She survives along with his children, David (Kelly) Taylor of Canton, Annette Taylor of Cuba, William (Ronica) Taylor of Canton, Timmy Taylor of Canton; grandchildren, Brandon Clark, Steven Taylor, Jessie Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Christopher Smith, Jacob Taylor, Tearza Taylor, Gabby Taylor, Nikki Taylor; great-grandchildren, Cora Taylor, Kassandra Clark, Carsynn Smith; sisters, Pauline (Bob) Rowland of Arizona, Thelma (Bud) Howe of North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Taylor. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Caterpillar for 30 years retiring in August of 1997. He enjoyed fishing, mushrooming and he was a very hard worker. His grandchildren said he was their inspiration. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside service will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Foster Cemetery in Fairview. Pastor Kevin Vantine will officiate. There will be a luncheon following the service at Longview Apartments 414 N. 1st Ave. Canton, IL 61520. A celebration of life will also be held Friday at Covenant Community Church in Canton from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Longview Apartments 414 N. 1st Ave., Canton, IL 61520 in his name.
