Obituary for Wesley Mitchen
Wesley E. Mitchen, 78, of North Pekin passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at his residence. He was born February 18, 1941 in Wichita, KS. His mother, Ellen L. Parrish and stepson, Edward Goldsby preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Danie’le (Kevin) Shelby, Brenda West; stepchildren, Debbie (Shawn) Pohlson, Bobbie (R.J.) Jones, James Landrith; grandchildren, Gaige, Taylor, Parker; brother, Ron (Sophia) Parrish; sister, Sue and previous wife and friend for 51 years, Nancy Landrith. Wesley worked for Caterpillar retiring in 1992. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears play and going to Ernie’s Restaurant in Pekin to eat. He loved camping with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin with visitation two hours prior at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
