Obituary for Wilhelmina Johns
Wilhelmina J. Johns, 86, of Peoria Heights passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born June 29, 1929 in Holland to Johannes and Jacoba Degooyer Praag. She married Valvey Johns in 1952; he preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Richard (Mary) Johns of Peoria; daughter, Tyra (Keith) Clark of Washington; grandsons, Keith Clark, Tyler Clark, Kyle Clark, Brian (Maggie) Johns, Mike Johns; great-grandchildren, Connor Johns, Grace Johns, Sarah Johns, Gavin Johns, Schyler Johns; sister, Jopie (Hank) Appels and nieces, Eddie Appels and Sharon Appels. Wilhelmina attended Brown’s Business College. She worked at Steak ‘n Shake, Caterpillar for over 15 years and later for the Peoria Park District. She enjoyed bingo, helping Cub Scouts, traveling and watching her favorite shows, Dr. Who, whom she watched with grandson, Brian and the Big Bang Theory. She loved her family very much and she will be greatly missed. Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
