Obituary for William E Wright
William Eugene Wright, 85, of Pekin passed away Friday July 27, 2012 at Hallmark House Nursing Home in Pekin. He was born January 28, 1927 in Decatur, IL to Fred and Sara Collinoski Wright. He married Marcella Keller November 30, 1947 in Pekin. She preceded him in death February 2, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Edwards of Pekin, Kathy Scoles of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren, Tracy (Chawn) Spracklen, Troy (Heidi) Edwards and step great-grandson, Kaleb Bohannon. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Wright of Arizona; sister-in-law, Georgia Largent of Pekin and his beloved dog “Buddy”. William served in the U.S. Navy and worked for the C.A. Powley Co. retiring in 1987. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Pekin and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. A funeral service will be held Monday July 30, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin with visitation two hours prior. Deacon Chuck Murray will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service and Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin on Saturday September 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. with military honors.
