Obituary for William Harper
William C. Harper, 79, of Peoria passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born March 20, 1934 in Peoria to Raymond and Daisy Birkell Harper. He married Jacquelyn Lyons September 27, 1962 in Peoria. She preceded him in death March 21, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Harper Jr. and two twin infant grandsons. He is survived by his children, Robert (Cindy) Slafter of Chillicothe, Vicki (Robert) Friederich of Rome, John Savage of Peoria, Scott Slafter of Peoria, Rick (Melissa) Harper of North Pekin, Lonny (Carrie) Harper of East Peoria; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace (Joseph) Flemming, Albert Harper, Vern Harper, Donald Harper, Linda (Paul) Lux; several nieces, nephews and his lifelong friend, Pete Rogers. William worked in the painter’s union for many years. He was very hard working and was a great provider for his family. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held per his wishes. Memorials may be made to his family.
