Obituary for William J. Murphy II
William J. Murphy II 51, of Forest City passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. He was born on February 28, 1957 in Des Moines, IA to William J. and Jacquelin Porter Murphy. He married Lisa Florea on December 3, 1988 in Pekin. He is survived by his son; William J. Murphy III of Pekin, his father of Pontotoc, MS, his mother of St. Louis, MO, brother, John Murphy of Pontotoc, MS, sister Linda (Mike) Henke of St. Louis, MO, step-brother, Rick (Sue) Reilly also of St. Louis, two step-sisters; Cheryl Young of Ft. Collins, CO and Terri Pointer of Seattle, WA. William was a 1975 Pekin High graduate and a member of the Riverside Blues Society and Laborers Local # 231 in Pekin. He played Hockey at the Owen Center and the Pekin Arena and was a St. Louis Blues and Peoria Riverman fan. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 21, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Marine Corp League 12411 Shady Ln Pekin followed by a Celebration of Life at 4 p.m. n lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a Education fund for his son at CEFCU. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
