Obituary for William Johns
William David “Dave” Johns 52, of East Peoria passed away peacefully at home with his wife and her family by his side, after a courageous battle with liver cancer on Tuesday August 31, 2010. Dave was born April 4, 1958 to William Bradford and Shirley Jean Bouvenette Johns in Centralia, IL. Dave later moved to Washington, IL in 1978 where he met his wife Patricia D. (Walker) Johns, she survives. Also surviving is his sister Sharon Kay (Melvin Wade) Courter of Centralia, IL. His aunt Ruth Johns of Washington, IL his in-laws Bobby & Patricia Walker of Bartonville, IL, brother-in-law Dennis (Leta) Walker of Kathleen, GA, sister-in-law Shelia (Jerry) Lee of Washington, IL along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Dave is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his uncle Talmage (TJ), cousins Bob & Tim Johns, mother-in-law Almeda Hearell and brother-in-law Greg “Greek” Greer. Dave lived life to the fullest, loved to fish and work in his wood shop with his dog and best friend “Fred”. Cremation has been accorded and a Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held Saturday September 4, 2010 from 4-6pm at Eastside Bible Church on Jefferson Street in Morton with Pastor Steve Weber officiating. Memorials may be made to the Autism Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Hospital of Peoria or PAWS Animal Shelter.
