Obituary for Wilton West
Wilton N. “Bill” West, 85, of Peoria passed away at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria on Friday, March 11, 2016. Born February 27, 1931 in Sacramento, CA to Jay and Beatrice West. Bill grew up in Folsom, CA and served honorably as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marines from 1950 to 1954. Later he married Mary Ann Gillespie at the First United Methodist Church in Peoria on September 12, 1959. Predeceased by his parents; one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Justin (Kristin) and Matthew (Sonya); two daughters, Melissa Koposky and Allison (Brad) Smith; eight grandchildren, Skyler, Blaze, Clayton, Alivia, Jack, Quinn, Mason, Ella and one great-grandchild, Kaden. A past employee at Hiram Walker, Bill retired from Caterpillar in 1991. Services will be private with cremation accorded. Memorials may be made to the Southside Mission, Neighborhood House, Peoria Rescue Mission or the Heading Avenue Franciscans.
