Obituary for Zelma F. Short
Zelma F. Short 63, of Morton passed away on Monday November 10, 2008 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born in Pekin to Warren and Mary Bennett Morrison on August 3, 1945. She Married Richard Short on July 31, 1968 in Tremont, he survives along with her sons; Rick (Patti) Short and Jerry (Stephanie) Short both of Pekin, daughter Stacy (Terry) Van Dyke of Hopedale, sisters; Helen Garner of Springfield, Edna McMakin of Tremont, Linda Kirby of New Holland/Middletown and her 6 grand and 1 great grandchild. Her parents, 1 sister, her brother and a grandson preceded her in death. Zelma was a Cook at Penny’s Village Inn, retiring in 2005, was a member of the Morton Bible Church and regularly donated to the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans). She will be greatly missed by her family and per her wishes cremation will be accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society for Lung research. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
