Obituary for Charles Dailey
Charles M. Dailey, 88, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. He was born November 29, 1926 in Peoria to LeRoy and Clara Buck Dailey. He married Betty C. Neely August 3, 1948; she preceded him in death November 28, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Milton Dailey; son, Michael C. Dailey and daughter, The Honorable Lynne E. Dailey. He is survived by is son, Todd A. Dailey of Peoria; granddaughter, Lauren E. Denneler of Fort Myers, FL and his loving partner, Shirley Crocker of Peoria. Charles worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 36 years. He owned and operated Liqui Green and several other businesses. He was the owner of three patents and was a very hard worker. He was a member of the George Washington Masonic Lodge 222 in Chillicothe and a Jester for the Shriner’s in Peoria. He loved to spend time outdoors by the pool with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, boating and flying his own plane. He was a dog lover and had a pet squirrel named Shorty. He and Shirley wintered in Bonita Beach, FL every year. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Abts Mortuary 905 S. 5th Street, Pekin, IL 61554. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s in his name.
