Obituary for Kathleen Smith
Kathleen B. Smith, 67, of Groveland passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born April 3, 1947 to Joseph and Georgina Vorheese Keseloff. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Brian. She is survived by her son, Michael Todd Smith of Tremont; daughter, Connie Marie (Gerald) Frantz of Garretson, SD; step-children, Nicholas (Kim Lee) Bernath of Pekin, Haley (Roger) Ludolph of East Peoria; grandchildren, Skyler, Brandon, Michaela, Zachary, Bailey, Riley, Christian, Austin, Mason, Andrew, Megan and she shared her life with Rob Bernath for 25 years. Kathleen was a graduate of Academy of Our Lady/Spaulding Class of 1965. She worked for the U.A.W. high-rise in Pekin for 29 years. She was a member of Tazewell County Democrat Club. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Cremation will follow the visitation. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Scott Potthoff will officiate. Burial will be at Mackinaw Township Cemetery immediately following the mass. Memorials may be made to suicide prevention in her name.
