Obituary for Judy Johnson
Judy K. Johnson of Mapleton passed away Monday evening August 11, 2014 at her home. She was born in Peoria to Harry and Gertrude (Beechler) Blase January 22, 1944. She was raised with her brother, Bob (Wanda) Blase and sister, Nancy (Bob) Hidden. She married Ben H. Johnson in October of 1960. They raised three children, Scott (Connie) Johnson of Marquette Heights, Melissa (Bob) Johnson of Havana, Dawn (Darryl) Perrilles of Mapleton. Judy has five grandsons, Brad, Chance, Jacob, Jerrod, Henry; one granddaughter, Casey; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Judy is survived by her husband, sister, children, grandchildren and her three dogs. Judy was employed by Central Illinois Light Company in 1975. She worked in maintenance at the E.D. Edwards Power Plant retiring in 1999. Judy loved to spend time with her family and friends. Whether camping, hunting for antiques, or simply gathering with others she enjoyed celebrating life. Judy had a strong value of family, desire to help others and a firm set of beliefs. Cremation has been accorded and in respect of Judy’s wishes no services are being held. Judy leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a wealth of love and a trail of happiness.
