Obituary for Jean Nichols
Wilma “Jean” Nichols, 77, of Peoria, IL has gone to be with the Lord on Saturday May 26, 2012 after passing at her home. Jean was born February 26, 1935 in Hartville, MO to James and Sybil Hensley Baker. She married Bill Nichols on February 18, 1952 in Salem, AR. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Bill Nichols; son, David (Dianna) Nichols of Dahinda, IL; daughter, Kathy (Bob) Simpson of Metamora, IL; six grandkids, Stacey, Kristy, Renee, Joshua, Jacob, Sara and nine great grandkids. Jean loved spending time with her grandkids, working in her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds and cooking for her family. Cremation has been accorded through the Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria. A memorial service will be held on Friday June 1st at 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour before at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. Her nephew James Baker will be officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hartville, MO. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
