Obituary for John Iaun
John Robert Iaun, age 58, of Alton, Illinois, passed away at his home on May 13, 2012. John was born on December 17, 1953, at the North Island Naval Base Hospital in Coronado, California. He is survived by his parents, Robert C. Iaun of Peoria, IL and Carolyn “Midge“ Davison, also of Peoria, IL; two brothers - Thomas E. Iaun of Peoria, IL and Michael R. Iaun of Galesburg, IL; and two nephews, Bryan Iaun of Dubuque, IA and Michael R. Iaun II of Galesburg, IL. John Graduated from Richwoods High School in Peoria in the early 1970’s. All his life he had an intense love of music - was a gifted pianist and loved to work on his digital keyboards and play guitars. He had a studio set up in his home in Alton where he wrote and recorded music. He lived in California for several years in the late 70’s and early 80’s and played with some of the big names in the music industry before becoming employed at a music store in Sherman Oaks, CA, selling keyboards of all kinds. After a short time in Peoria, he moved to Alton, IL where, for several years, he worked at Halpin Music and played in several musical praise groups there. John was a Christian and a member of the Narrow Road Community Church at 713 Washington St. in Alton, IL where a memorial will be held in his honor on May 23rd at 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
