Obituary for Dorothy Whitmore
Dorothy A. Whitmore, 95, of Brimfield, IL went to join the love of her life, Bill, on February 19, 2012. She passed away at Sunset Manor in Canton, IL. She was born May 8, 1916 to William and Erma (Harvill) Curlock. She married Charles (Bill) Whitmore on February 16, 1936 in Jefferson County, IL. He died August 2, 1997. She is survived by her children, Deloros Deppermann of Flippin, AR, Clifford and Laura Whitmore of Canton, IL, Judy Burnett of East Peoria, IL, Debra and Mike Keller of New Windsor, IL and a sister, Mildred Loven of Bashor, KS, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Geraldine Frick of Manito, IL. She and Bill farmed for many years in Peoria County, after retiring from the farm she went to work at Home Comfort in Princeville, IL. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing and cooking for family gatherings. Cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Sunset Manor in Canton, IL where she was treated with such loving care or to a place of your choice.
