Obituary for N. Dean Freesmeyer
N. Dean Freesmeyer 74, of Pekin passed away on Monday February 8, 2010 at his home. He was born on September 11, 1935 in Hamburg, IL to C. Ralph and Amanda Booth Freesmeyer. Dean married Ann Fischer on December 21, 1958 in Roanoke. She survives along with his sons: Ed (Mary) Freesmeyer of Marysville, OH, Sam (Nancy) Freesmeyer of Norcross, GA, Tim (Terri) Freesmeyer of Macomb, daughters: Cindy (Jim) Malin of Glasford, DeAnn Freesmeyer of Pekin, his 8 grandchildren: Sara, Jake, Nathaniel, Ben, Dan, Aaron, Rachel and David, brother Dennis (Sherry) Freesmeyer of Winchester and sisters Norma (Joe) Williams of Phoenix, AZ and Linda Gazzney of Wauerly. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother. Dean was a High School Teacher teaching in Springfield and Southern IL and also worked as a Correctional Program Officer for the Arizona Dept. of Corrections in Tucson, AZ for 15 years, retiring in 1998. Dean enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the Parkway Christian Church in Pekin, IL. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
