Obituary for Mary Lee Harriman
Mary Lee Harriman of Peoria, passed away Oct. 23, 2009 at OSF Saint Clare Home. She was born June 24, 1946 in Springfield, MA to C. Howard and Virginia Adams. She graduated from Kirkwood (MO) High School in 1964 and from Kansas University in 1968 where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She was also a member of PEO Chapter X Frederick MD. On Oct. 12, 1968 in Kirkwood she married Ronald E. Harriman. She taught middle school history and math in Bridgeton, MO, Pulaski and Dublin VA, and Bamberg Germany. She loved their years in Germany. They were able to travel extensively while in Europe thoroughly enjoying the sights she studied in books. She was a wonderful tour director for visiting family. Mary Lee is survived by her husband of 41 years, son Ronald Christopher, grandchildren Austin and Arianna Harriman, her father C. Howard Adams, St. Louis, MO and two sisters, Nancy Trott, Lafayette, IN and Joann Smith, Kirkwood, MO. Services will be held on Saturday October 31, in the chapel at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made in her name to OSF Saint Clare Home 5533 N. Galena Rd. Peoria Heights, IL 61616. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
