Obituary for Cathy L. Rubel
Cathy L. Rubel 60, of Canton passed away on Monday February 10, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Peoria on May 26, 1948 to William and Virginia Dismang Hemp. She married Donald Richard Rubel in Peoria on April 4, 1997, he survives along with her children; Terry (Requel) Blair Jr. of Pekin, Lorri Blair of Canton, brother William Hemp of Peoria, sister Nancy Boise of Peoria Heights, 1 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her parents and step-son Jerry L. Jones preceded her in death. Cathy was a Clerical Worker at CDC for 14 years and loved cooking and music and was a avid Cubs fan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. A friend to all and will be sadly missed. Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Friday the 13, at 7 p.m. with visitation from 5:30 to 7 at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 604 Groveland St., Creve Coeur, (next to the Community Center) Pastor Dwight will officiate. A Fellowship will follow the service in the lower level of the church. Memorials may be made to the Midwest Kidney Foundation. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
