Obituary for Richard Erwin Hagemann
Richard Erwin Hagemann of Peoria passed away Sunday May 4, 2008 at Methodist Hospital. Richard was born July 5, 1941 to Mr. And Mrs. Ernest Hagemann of Winfred, South Dakota. He was the youngest of seven children. His parents and one brother, Denton preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife MaryLou, one son, Glen, brothers and sister; Everett (Virginia) of Dinuba, CA, Lorraine (David) Britton of Newark, CA, Arvid (Sylvia) of Shawnee, KS, Hazel (William) Kleine of Arnold, CA and Lillian Firth of Bothell, WA. Richard married Carol Kratzer in 1963. Together they had one son, Glen. He later married MaryLou Behymer who survives along with step-daughter Kimberly Merrit and step-grandsons, Alex and Aaron of Atlanta, GA as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Richard grew up on the family farm in South Dakota. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and antique tractors. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649 for more than 26 years. In August 2004 he retired. Richard was well known by his many family and friends for his friendly grin and caring spirit. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone needing help. Richard was an active member of Grandview Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had a deep love for his God Jehovah and the many promises from the Bible concerning God’s purpose fro the earth and man’s future on the earth. He shared his faith with others in the community and among co-workers, family and friends. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at the Grandview Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6007 North Big Hollow Rd., at 11 a.m., Saturday May 10, 2008. Burial of cremains will be in Mt. Holly Cemetery. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is assisting the family with arrangements.
