Obituary for Marion Irvin Casson
Marion Irvin Casson, 83, of Peoria passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria. He was born September 26, 1933 in Pontiac to George Irvin and Ethel Alberta Wilson Casson. He graduated from Cornell High School. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. He had his own business, plumbing, heating and air conditioning for 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Karen Potter-Casson whom he married on June 5, 2004. Also surviving are daughters, Kimberly (Michael) Stewart, Laurel (Dennis) Berg, Elena (Todd) Fraser and Valorie Casson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He raised as his own, step-great grandson, Austin Clark. From previous marriage to Jean Gibson Casson whom is deceased; step daughter, Theresa (Perry) Malone whom have three sons, one daughter and six grandchildren and step son, James (Jeannie) Simpson whom have two daughters and two grandchildren. There are two step daughters, Barbara Finney and Lynette Potter; one step son, Bruce Potter; one step grandson and four step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Evelyn (Harvey) Anderson and several nieces, nephews and step nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step granddaughter, Ja Jean Clark. Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at First Church of the Nazarene 5504 N. University, Peoria, IL at 11 a.m. with visitation two hours prior at the church. Rev. Mark McCall will preside. Interment will be at Camp Cemetery in Odell, IL at a later date. In place of flowers you may give to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice in his name. I would like to thank Heddington Oaks and UnityPoint Hospice for all the great care and compassion given to my husband.
